Cages full. Mezzanine buzzing. Community together. Here's what Saturday meant — in Mark's own words.
A Message from Mark
Saturday's ribbon cutting was the culmination of a lot of hard work — but really, it was just the start.
This place started as a simple idea between people who love this game and love this town: a place where everyone — from the kid taking their very first swing to the high schooler to adults gathering for some fun — could have somewhere to go. Watching families and groups of friends walk through our doors, meet our coaches, and take some swings in the cages made every early morning and late night worth it.
Short Porch exists because we believe baseball builds something bigger than better players — it builds community. Seeing that belief become real on Saturday, surrounded by the families, coaches, and community members who've supported us since day one, was something I'll never forget. Watching that community show up — cages full, mezzanine buzzing — reminded us exactly why we built this.
To the Town of Collingwood, our local partners, and every family who's already part of the Short Porch family: thank you for believing in us. We're just getting started, and we're so glad you're along for the ride.
